Leadership | ILT

updated March 13, 2008

ILT is viewed as the next track in IAWAH’s leadership development program.
It is an intense four week experience of building on the foundation of God’s relevance and His image being revealed through each participant’s life. With volunteer service being a prerequisite, ILT begins to explore how each particpant fits into God’s community of service (taking care of the needs of others). Each participant will be challenged both as an individual and as a part of an ILT community to learn and live a Christ-centered life.
The program is designed to build depth of character through learning the disciplines of Christ, personal dedication and commitment to community. Honesty and accountability are required in the experience of ILT.

ILT curriculum includes:
1. Bible Instruction - interactive teaching sessions that pull participants into a deeper understanding of faith and God’s truth.

2. Leadership Experience - activity planning, personal reflection, leadership community interaction, work projects and providing camper care all work together to build a foundation of leadership skills.

3. Training - observation, hands on experience, reflection and evaluation with IAWAH staff result in a quality learning environment.

4. Service - the heart of Jesus is discovered through serving others.

5. Small Groups - the place where dialogue and relationships result in personal and community growth and perspective.

6. Modeling - observing IAWAH staff in action and working with them provides opportunity for learning styles of leadership.

7. Evaluation - times of honest evaluation and reflection will occur both personally and with ILT leaders. These are opportunities for growth and development.
